I'm thinking of doing away with (most of) the PiD monsters entirely, keeping the Banshees and turning the Headless and Nightmares into other ghostly (invisible) monsters more in the style of the Banshees, but not invincible and fewer of them. "More horror, less hordes" is how I noted it to myself. Maybe turning Headless into some fast, weak, invisible, F'lickta making a slowed version of Banshee death scream as it moves (so you hear it coming, turn and fire and hope you hit it before it reaches you and if you do it dies right away). And turning nightmares into slow, weak, invisible, non-chirping Wasps, with a lower rate of fire, so you just hear the flapping around you, and get peppered with their shots here and there, more harassing than attacking you.
