I agree. I do think that one of the only throw-backs (well, these ones don't bug me) are the fact that Marathon pretty much just has the UESC ship and then a couple Pfhor ship levels. I think that M2, in a way, is more for the happiness, tranquil, interesting action/adventure type. M1 was more for the strangeness, suspense, emotional sci-fi/horror type in some respects. Pretty much I think that M1's maps, however, were also more complex and with more puzzles, but that's just me. I'm someone who prefers M1's environment over M2's and MI's, but then again, that's just me.
