I agree in many aspects, though I still loved M2 and Mi. The thing that really upset me when I first played M2 was the colors and shapes. Take for example the s'pht. M1 s'pht are cool as sh't! Their face-less heads and intense red cloaks are infinitly better than the neck-less (or is it headless??) orange compilers. All the colors seem dull and uninteresting and tend to make the characters look as if they were molded from plastic in the two later games. And the darks...Marathon had the best darkness, the other two games could get dark, but they never had that darkness that made you paranoid of lurking lookers.
