Ok- close analysis of the Shotgun revels the reloading sequence to be more... odd than it would first appear.
First lets look at how it's gripped. It is held in by the grip with the fingers (bar the first finger) through the ring below the grip. This is vital for the reloading sequence. Note that this grip does nothing to prevent recoil and again this is vital for the reload sequence.
Now to the actual sequence-
The blast from the shotgun actually begins the reloading sequence. The recoil pushes the entire barrel through a 360 degree loop in the Player's hands- in the 3rd frame of the recoil sequence (viewed in Anvil) you're actually looking down the barrel(s) of the gun- and back into the firing position. How the shells are actually loaded is rather a tricky one.
At first I thought that the shotgun was break-action like a normal double barreled shotgun. The reload cound kinda confirms this but the in the sequence it doesn't look like the gun is opened at all.
My guess is that the rounds are forceably inserted into the gun from a slot in either the top or the side of the gun- though of course that would take lighting reflexes in the heat of battle and even more so with a brace of Shotguns.
Damn that to complex to explain load sequence!
