Stop talking about the magnum having terrible stopping power. I really don't give a shit, and other people shouldn't do that either. I'm not accusing you at all, but I wish people would quit switching to weapons that are the most powerful. But see, that's the problem with most multiplayer situations: it barely ever matters about speed or accuracy, or anything else other than power. I really don't understand why power is such a popular concept in guns: so it kills things up close quick. Big deal! What about speed? What about accuracy? What about range? What about ammo capacity? What about everything?

Actually, you do find quite a bit of wide open areas or long distances in which the magnum proves to be VERY useful. I don't think that the engine doesn't exactly allow it. And you people quit saying that Marathon is consistent of a bunch of dark corridors in a crappy, cramped starship. Sure, there are some corridors, but there are many wide, open rooms in there, there aren't that much corridors. Quit saying that they are cramped. At least the M1 maps don't have cheesy, crappy-varied Ambient Sounds and a bunch of primitive, dorky looking environments. Ha! I'm just playing with you all.

Yes, the magnum have many uses. Really if you want the magnums to give you a HUGE benefit that you thought you'd never receive from using the gun, you have to have a lot of skill and experience with it. Yet again, quit going on and on about how the other guns have better stopping power, "OH! This gun does a shitload of damage, so I'm going to choose it automatically!" and how the magnum has a lack of stopping power.

How many times must I tell people that stopping power isn't everything you want in a gun?
