First of all it has nothing to do with heights that was just an example. My theory is that 2 identical universes cannot coexist and as such will destroy themselves and everyone in them. As Forrest points out there are a near infinite number of permutations concerning when I killed my alternate, when I killed my alternate, whether I killed my alternate, etc. But even in the unimaginable vastness of possibilities there MUST exist at least one in which the universes are made identical, and this I believe would cause their collapse. I disagree with Forrest in the sense of two converging (time)lines can diverge again and still remain stable. In all of the theories that describe universal structure, what is the one thing that cannot remain static? The answer is symmetry. Nature (of the Earth, of ideas, of the Universe) tends to favor asymetry. I believe that the universe (as a whole) NEEDS asymmetry, it cannot have identical sub-universes or timelines within it, as such in any hypothetical scenario where 2 universes would become identical, they would try to separate themselves, or diverge. This is simply not possible. Try super-glueing two pieces of paper together, then try and pull them apart. You can't without tearing both sheets. Furthermore, lets say, for the sake of discussion that 2 universes could coexist in symmetry or be identical, if this could happen it would mean that existence is infinite, and this cannot be. As the theory stands you can have every possibility, and every permutation of every event ever, but you still have limits. Even though the sum of all those possibilities is unimaginably large it is only near-infinite, NOT infinite. If you could have identical universes then there would indeed be a literally endless amount and existence would have to be infinite. As I said before, this cannot be because nonexistence (void,chaos,etc.) has to lie outside existence. Quite simply, without nonexistence there could be no existence, no reality.
