That depends on what you mean by "timeless". Timeless can just mean ancient, or unchanging... it doesn't necessarily mean that the creatures transcend time or timelines.

Departing from strict canon for a moment, the interpretation of the W'rkncacnter that I took in Eternal is that they still perceive time the way all other beings do, they just have phenomenal, effectively magical powers within a given timeframe, and can jump around through space-time at will, which amounts to not much more than just having a built-in time machine.

But the great thing about multilinear time is that you can't unmake a timeline you don't like; all you can do is go back and make a different one. So you can always find a timeline where nothing bad happens, if you try hard enough, and nobody in those bad timelines can unmake that new nice timeline of yours; they can just re-branch another timeline where you failed.
