W'rkncacnter and timelines

I just thought of something: if Marathon Infinity follows the model of multilinear time, when the nova that releases the W’rkncacnter is stopped, isn’t [?it] released in various other timelines? (I don’t remember exactly what was said about the W’rk except that [?it] doesn’t follow the laws of physics, but wasn’t there something about time?) Or does Marathon have some weird thing where only one timeline is [?active], and the infinitude of others are [?dormant] until you or Thoth or the Jjaro or that damn implant [?activates] another?
