(most likely telepathic since you don't see keyes talking in the blob...) 2) if 1 is right, then we know why the flood didn't take keyes to the PoA, because it does require at least some button pushing and vocal commands and so on (not to mention it's partially buried) Cortana: "we're all equally edible" i always wondered why she said "we," if machinery can't be infected.... the library is presumably close to the flood holding bunker or whatever (i'm thinking it's that thing that you meet GS on at the end of level 6, only underground?)
