Hadn't thought of David and Goliath being metaphorical stand-ins for whole races before...hm.

Parts of the S'pht creation myth do give the impression that Yrro and Pthia, too, were stand-ins, though I think it's very curious that nobody's ever found "Pthian" tech (like you mentioned in that old post), nor is it ever alluded to. Surely, Durandal would at least mention it once off-hand.
