And I maintain that in the Marathon universe Tau Ceti really fucking is 92ly away, because of the beautiful irony it creates at the end of Marathon's timeline: the combined forces of the humans and S'pht'Kr finish sacking the Pfhor empire, and then, just then, right afterward, Leela's warning about the Pfhor reaches Earth.

That's like if the runner of the first Marathon arrived at Sparta with his warning about the Persians just in time to see the victory parade about Persia's defeat.
