In Response To: Re: Exactly what I wanted to hear Matt! (Gorehead) When people say "harm to the PC platform" they are not referring to the lack of games going to the PC/Mac from XBox... They are instead hitting on the fact that games for the PC/Mac will come out mostly XBox first (if that is where the money is to be made) especially if they are made by anyone affiliated with Microsoft (i.e. Bungie). Therefore, you will end up waiting longer for the PC/Mac versions to hit shelves... just as we are waiting now for Halo... I still maintain that Halo for the Mac/PC will not come out until 2-3 months after the XBox hits Europe and all other release countries... The reason? Simple... you have to sell the copy of Halo for the XBox, and you have to sell the XBox itself... Halo is the most popular game for the Box (sales figures prove it as such) and will be a selling point (as it has for us in the U.S.) for the XBox... If the PC/Mac version is out, then you will lose a lot of potential customers who want HALO NOW! I still agree with the above post (I posted something to that effect as well...) in that buying a Mac/PC decked out for games is much too pricey to do every 2 years... when you can buy a Console for a quarter of the price (if not less) than the Mac/PC... and you should only have to get a new console maybe every 2 years at the least, and 3 at the most... Some people hook their computers up to a stereo system and their TV... but not all of us have the space/capability to do so... so we rely on our Console, Home Theatre System, and the 53" Widescreen TV to improve our gaming experience... :: Adds 2 cents to the pot :: PCD
