The one in New Mombasa got pulled far up because it was mostly intact just weakened by the slipsapce jump. It had enough structure left for the counterweight to rip it whole from the ground and spread if across Africa. This one was not intact. It just got blasted by a Covenant Corvette! I imagine that most of it above the blast point did get pulled up into space. But a larger more substantial part broke free than happened on Earth because it had already been at least half severed from the Covenant blast.
