In Response To: FUD Episode 3 Here. (Rice) I really started to worry about Lasky when the video was loading, hoping his illness to the blistering wasn't near fatal. Then all of the sudden Cortana's rampancy comes to fruition, and left my mouth agape and tearing up that a part of her wants to harm John. Until the introduction of the Covenant however, all I felt is that this film needs to be much, much longer. Perhaps this will be remedied by the Extended Cut. Lasky's diagnosis by Dr. Hughes, his dismissal from Corbulo, and the sign of respect between him and Vickers were sweet, but happened too quickly. The shining moment of this episode was the Covenant reveal. I don't know if it was just that my house is cold, but I was sitting up in my chair, deeply frightened and concerned for these cadets. This scene was executed brilliantly from beginning to end and the excitement and atmosphere of the moment hit its mark perfectly. Looking up at the sky and out through the windows to the parade ground gave me a sense that I was just a much a part of this as the actors were. The eerie moment when the tether was flanked by those corvettes is already ingrained in my mind. I feared after last week's preview that Forward Unto Dawn would simply turn into a generic war film to appease the hordes of bros who don't give two shits about character development. I'm ecstatic that my ignorance was beaten this morning! :) P.S., I would hate to sound sadistic, but I'm quite glad that Dimah Tchakova bit the dust. I knew from the second she opened her mouth while mustered that she'd call her CINCFLEET mummy as if an academy full of the spawn of high ranking officials wouldn't have a dozen numbered fleets bearing down on it. People like her have no right whatsoever to lead people in combat.
