You can't fully customise your character the way you might want, with the full range of options, unless you're suckered into these (seemingly) mutually exclusive pre-order bonuses. There is a completionist streak that runs through many gamers that can never be satisfied with some pieces locked off as retailer exclusives. : I'm betting most of these exclusives can be had via playing the game and
I'll bet you the opposite. In ODST, Johnson is unavailable for play other than by pre-order code. In Reach, a Recon variant and a chest-piece cannot be got other than by pre-order. And most egregriously, the Grunt Funeral skull in CEA cannot be unlocked if you didn't get a pre-ordered copy. Game retailers are bloody middle-men that should be getting you the product on-time and at good prices. That's it. Not working out shady deals to lock content from customers unless they buy from a particular place at a particular time. Especially at the expense of other exclusive content that is locked to different retailers.
