Say what you will about the story, I think Bungie struck as : close to perfection with difficulty balance as they could have with this : game. I agree with this. In Reach, the brutes finally felt like they weren't just replacements for the elites. They fought differently, moved differently, and needed different tactics to defeat. Granted, they were unique in Halo 2 as well. But the unique thing about them in that game was that they were useless bullet sponges. :P
