In Response To: Re: "Difficulty Balance in Halo" Redux. *long-ish* (uberfoop) : I see this complaint constantly, but I'm always confused as to what : situations people are referring to. Aside from some nasty experiences I've : had trying to rush some areas (especially in Two Betrayals), I've found : that Halo 1's checkpoints are usually quite even and reasonable. It's the only Halo game I've ever had insta-death checkpoints. (Had a checkpoint after falling off a Banshee platform on TB, before I died. The respawn was in mid-air. Had another one as I walked out the door on that same platform - I got out there before the new banshee spawned, and accidentally stood where it spawned. Checkpoint, banshee spawn (on my face), death. All within about a second or so. Many, many more. No other Halo game allowed silliness like this.
