Well it seems new to me because according to the gametype, this is standard BR Slayer and not a new gametype that has yet to be shown. My post was more about me wondering if this new scoring system will be the new standard for Halo 4, and if so what the reasoning behind that decision was.

If the reason for the change was simply "Bungie did it this way, and we are not Bungie, so we are going to do it this other way for no real reason." You would probably be a bit confused by the decision. If this scoring system were the new standard, there must be a progression-type reason behind it, which is what I was really interested in.

I wasn't stating that I've never seen a scoring system like that in a gametype before, I just have never seen it in a default Halo gametype like Slayer, that's all.
