That's true. The actual history and "story" behind the grunts themselves isn't bad and is actually a little interesting, but the cutesy attitude and disney cartoon voice is what splashes cold water on an otherwise impeccably designed presentation throughout the series. I've seen this dismissed by people a lot as "Bungie humor" and the attitude that WELL BY GOSH IF IT DIDNT HAVE BUNGIE HUMOR I JUST WOULDNT LIKE IT in an attempt to have the opposite stance, but I think that's lame. I was cool with the Bobs of Marathon with their ridiculous shouts and Simulacrums etc etc, but the grunts just take it to a whole separate level of annoying.
