The radiation resistance is also suggested in the h2 manual that comes with the game. It states that the FRG's radioactive ammo is particularly effective against humans. That suggested to me that we were more vulnerable to radioactivity than Covie species. That's one of the things that pushed me along the lines of speculating that Hunters were radioactive. Though the real motivation for that was wondering how those worms could breathe being tightly packed inside that armor or how they could deal with overheating. I think that Hunters are the most likely candidate for being the silicon based lifeform that the Beastaruim hints at. : ---Elites have a greater lung capacity than Prophets. {CH:p379} They need to be pretty souped up organisms to go head to head against a Spartan in Mjolnir. I suspect that Elite features are just being decided piecemeal by individual authors. OTOH the radiation resistance has precedent. Of course the purple blood is easy to see, just whack a dead one in the original game. :-) It would be nice to see an expanded Beastarium that really went into Covie biology, maybe with dissections and such. If it was done from a Human perspective then it could be quite sketchy. Though I suspect that the UNSC's advanced medical knowledge would be able to tell them a lot about the Covies.
