In Response To: Re: Holy crap, you're a genius! (Bry) : The whole point is that its supposed to be difficult to fathom. Advanced : Forerunner technology that is far beyond our own ability, even 500 years : in the future. It's not that it's difficult to fathom, it's a simple idea, the problem is it doesn't make any sense. There are a lot of things we don't understand-- light is not one of them, and it's been established for some time you can't just freeze it or put it in a container, visible or not. It's energy, in it's purest form (tied with the other three forms), to touch it is to have it transformed into some other type of energy. Probably the thing that best shows how ridiculous it is I only just thought of: if it's made of light, how can you see it? Either light would have to be leaking-- massively-- which doesn't sound good for structural integrity, or light would have to bounce off it, and when light collides with light it doesn't bounce, it combines. : Besides, if its good enough for Red Dwarf and later Star Trek, its good
I'm not aware of any solidified light in Star Trek and I've seen every episode of TNG and Voyager and most of the original series.
