: Sequels are not bad in video games! They are only bad if you think about a
: sequel from a story perspective.

: Sequels are GOOD. You have a game with some mechanics that are fun. They are
: good, but they could be better. So, a sequel comes along, and you IMPROVE
: the mechanics. With the next sequel you IMPROVE THEM MORE. Each new sequel
: gives you a better more refined game.

: If all you're doing with you video game sequel is giving your characters
: another story to finish, then yes that's terrible. If you're doing it
: RIGHT though, and using it as an opportunity for refinement, then it is a
: very good thing.

: We are not on the edge of creative bankruptcy because of sequels; we are on
: the edge of creative bankruptcy because developers are less concerned with
: making games with excellent mechanics anymore, and more concerned with
: making 'experiences', 'narratives', or 'franchises'.

Based on this I assume you think Mass Effect 2 is the worst game ever made then - seeing as how it's largely accepted that from a gaming mechanics POV, ME1 is far better.
