In Response To: Re: The Flying Brick Brigade. (Bry) : A brick flies very well in-atmosphere, provided its going fast enough. : You don't need aerodynamics to fly. It just makes it easier. Okay, let me put it differently. They'd make about as good of an aircraft as a brick. A UNSC vessel cannot generate lift any more than a brick could. I could stick a bunch of bottle rockets to a brick to give it foward movement (parallel to the ground), but it's still going to plummet to the ground unless I also attach something to counteract gravity. Unless some blocky, aerodynamically unsound craft like a UNSC vessel has some kind of vertical thrusters to counteract gravity, it cannot be a viable vessel in-atmosphere, and on worlds with no atmosphere, they'd absolutely need vertical thrusters (not that the latter scenario has presented itself in the Haloverse). Realitically, UNSC vessels would be useless except in outer space.
