In Response To: Alright, slayer experts. (Beckx)

: I'm finding that I'm worse at Reach than H3 (and, you know, it's not like I
: was exactly good there).

: Leaving SWAT and Sniper aside for the moment, a big component of how awful I
: am comes down to DMR v. DMR engagements (in DMR start games). While I'm
: not great in Classic, Slayer, or Elite Slayer, I'm particularly bad in DMR
: starts, so I'd be curious to hear tips from the experts.

: Do you aim for the head for all shots with the DMR, or do you go for the body
: until the shields pop? I'm generally trying for the upper part of the
: body, because my aim still feels unsteady (and I'm using a 2 sensitivity).
: Any tips for getting better?

I'm by no means awesome or worthy of offering advice but I have noticed a difference in H3 and H:R. It seemed like the Halo 3 head heat boxes were higher. I remember during SWAT games, I would always aim high, just slight above their head to get a head shot. If I shot them in the neck area, I could empty a clip and still have a standing enemy. In Reach it seems the head box is lower. I've shot many a person in the chest and it counted as a 1 shot kill. It seems like the head/neck/throat region is 1 shot...which is fine because that is still 1 shot territory.

It seems like most of the DMR battles I've been in are mid-long range, which is basically who can shoot the best. Then there are the close range / come around a corner DMR shootouts. It's easy to get panicked and start tapping the trigger as fast as you can...which gives you the accuracy of a blind man on a merry-go-round. Slow down and shoot at a CPR pace. (just sing Stayin Alive and shoot on the beats). Or pull out your pistol.
