Well that's from your point of view as someone who doesn't read reviews. =P
I don't usually depends on them either beyond checking the 'reception' section of a games wiki article if I don't know much about it.
But I know plenty of people that do still use reviews.
Developers and publishers apparently think it is worth the risk and something that needs to be done.
As said before, this isn't the first time and it won't be the last time.
Games always leak one way or another, be it during manufacture like Halo 2, from shops selling them early like ODST or from advance copies for reviewers getting out in the wild.
Truth be told, ones meant for reviews are probably the least likely to be the source for a leak and developers/publishers will be paying close attention to how badly this experiment with digitally distributing advance copies has gone.
I know we can be a bit emotion in regards to Halo and Bungie, but knee jerk reactions can work out just as badly.
