So instead of closing it off to a restricted part of the site that the public wouldn't even be able to see (on a url that maybe a Google bot would pick up but would never get into because it would require a username and password handed out to each press individual to access it or a unique one for each individual they wanted to give it to), they have it up there publicly even with its security in place almost daring the determined (who as we've seen love to break or hack into anything of Microsoft's since Windows 95) to try and crack it. Underestimation of hackers, or epic security fail (which Microsoft has always been good at)? But that's not fair on my part. I'm sure there was more to it than that. We'll just go with both.
