I also agree with a lot of what Cody has to say. I'm also glad he's saying it. Being a public, vocal critic of large institutions is a time-honored position, around since at least Socrates/the biblical Prophets/Thersites (take your pick). Cody has a lot of cred as someone invested in gaming as a lifestyle, so his words have a little more weight than, say, mine do. The complaints he has are similar to complaints many authors have regarding texts going digital, also. Other disciplines/interests/ways of life are going in similar directions. There's a society-wide shift going on right now, and it could easily end up going badly for a lot of rights we now take for granted. Video gaming may not be the most essential as a matter of feeding yourself day-to-day, but it is part of the whole and in that sense no less important. If Cody says he's leaving, I'd guess he's only leaving because he feels he's being forced out, and he won't take a footstep towards the door of his own will, and will loudly describe what he sees as the force making him take each step. More power to him.
