Without that sense that he was putting everything on : the line, it wasn't enjoyable. : A good writer will make you connect with the characters, no matter what the : ending. : The Human over Covenant victories just seemed a little too numerous to me. : How do you feel about the Covenant losing their ferociousness? Two things struck me about the initial Harvest situation. One is that survivors of Harvest may not have been known at the time we learned of the Covenant's message from the system. It took months for communications and ships to get to and from if I recall. If we'd been briefed on Harvest later, perhaps survivors would have been common knowledge. Secondly, ONI may have covered up any news regarding Harvest and the situation about how many killed and how many survived. There are possible plausible explanations around those events.
