In Response To: Thoughts & observations. (Gravemind) : The Falcon, needle rifle, and Skirmisher Jackals. It's one thing to add new : weapons and enemies in sequels, but this being a prequel taking place days : before the first game, one has to ask where those things went so suddenly. : If they had any bearing on the story, they could be called Ass Pulls. They : might be cool, they might work well with gameplay, but their presence : doesn't make any goddamn sense. I don't think new weapons or vehicles are anything to get worked up about. It makes about as much sense as not seeing the old pistol or assault rifle in Halo 2. It's much more of a gameplay than a story/canon/consistency issue. If we got a novelization of Halo 2 with the line "then Dubbo fired his assault rifle at the grunt", somewhere in the text, I don't see how anyone would be up in arms over the canon being violated. You're basically asking Bungie not to give us anything new because Reach is a prequel, which is silly. | |
