In Response To: A few questions *Spoilers* (0postmortem0) : Here's a few questions I had upon watching it through again: Why did Cortana : ask Chief if he could hear her? He was in cryosleep wasn't he? -Rhetorical/dramatic. People do the same thing to the dead, etc. : And also : what's the symbol that appears in her eye before the story begins. There's : got to be some significance to that. Is it the same as the one on the : planet? And is that planet, perhaps, the one in the Legendary ending? : Somebody should find some pictures and compare... -Consensus is that it's probably the same one. : What is the significance of the different headgear the Forerunner wear? For : example, some have crests on their helmets while others do not. Also their : handheld weapons... well they were just cool. Like an energy sword that : also shoots stuff. -Pretty cool, and it seems like a derss uniform version of combat armor, nothing more and nothing less. : Is the planet the first Halo goes to the Prophet's homeworld or a Flood : infected planet? Something else? What's up with the Prophet's homeworld : anyway, from the Beastiary and the Encyclopedia? That's a little off topic : I know... -There's lots of speculation that this is Cortana being dramatic rather than factual, but who knows? : Something also seems important about what was said about the cataloguing... : but I just can't place it. I feel like something was revealed there but it : just isn't as obvious as the rest... -The Index was in fact a genetic catalogue, as was speculated. That's a biggie. : Is the Forerunner seen at the end helmetless? Is that the back of a : Forerunner head seen without anything on it? -There's been plenty of promises of explanation / speculation on these elements to be made available soon. : What's the significance of the similarity between the Forerunner's hand over : the helmet while it seals away the suit and a similar shot of Cortana's : hand in the beginning? -Depends on your interpretation. If nothing else, basic re-use of imagery to tie things together. If you want to go deeper, the Forerunner relied so heavily on AIs, etc etc. Imagery relates what it means to be "human" in a situation even though both sides are non-human, bla bla. : I'm probably reading into this too much... but it was a good episode and it : contained a lot of new information. Worth overanalyzing a little bit. -Agree 100%. Great blend of facts and speculation.
