In Response To: Re: But in hindsight... (Metalingus627) : Well, think about it. Say a few hundred years after the Halo trilogy, the : Flood arrives from Andromeda to see why the galaxy isn't controlled by a : Gravemind yet. Meanwhile, we have had a few months fighting experience and : a few hundred years worth of studying the Flood. We would still suffer, : but we sure as hell wouldn't be defenseless. True, but if the Flood invaded that would make for a very boring game. What I hate about this is the fuzziness surrounding the outbreak on Installation 04 - were the Flood contained in individual vessels or isolated labs? Or was there one door that lead to jungle fever? Just how smart/stupid were the Forerunners? What I'm seeing is a race that developed similar to Earth humans but grew due to almost infinite resources. Everyone seems to be basing their ideas off the assumption that every Forerunner was a genius. I'm betting they were having a slow century or two when the Flood rocked up. And I don't recall any "Stay the Hell away or something will eat your foot" signs in 343 Guilty Spark...
