I still have faith that this game will be fun. I have little faith that it'll be true to the story and will please me in that respect. A lot of what's there just doesn't fit: the Spartan trading blows with the elite's sword, the stupid goddamn mechs, the whole idea of upgrading units isn't something I'm comfortable with. And that isn't even mentioning the flood. It wasn't awful, though. I like that it's possible to have a huge, low-tech army and a smaller, high-tech army that are equal, and not just have the zerg overrun everything. I don't think the idea of the covenant being the larger, low-tech force is that bad - think about it, their general strategy is to deploy squads of grunts with very little regard for equipping or protecting them well, and to lead them with a single elite. And examine the vehicles and their counterparts - a scorpion will destroy a banshee 100% of the time on a level playing field, a warthog generally trumps a spectre or prowler, and the non-castrated hornet (IE with missiles) is far superior to a banshee. It doesn't get me going as much as it might, but I still have faith that Halo Wars will be a decent game. I just pray the story isn't frighteningly unfaithful.
