Maybe that's a good thing, maybe that's a result of all the dirt : they've been getting thrown at them from RTS players. I'll give the demo a : chance. maybe i'm being overly cynical here (tends to happen when we discuss halo wars), but it seemed to me like they didn't actually discuss strategy, they just threw the word out there a couple times. that fuzzy guy was talking about simplifying the resource system because "console players don't want to dig in the dirt" or something to that effect. uh, so what now, do i just get free moneys on a regular interval without having to explore for new sources of money or set up a base expansion? seems really strategic. do i go for a teched-out small army or a zergrush huge one? seems like that's already decided by which faction i choose to play as. maybe i didn't pay enough attention to what he was saying about the strategy of halo wars, because maybe i was too busy being insulted by how apparently the fps games are completely devoid of strategy and revolve around "using one single weapon and one single tactic". what? did they even PLAY halo? apparently not, because halo wars doesn't look anything like it. /rant if someone could point out to me where the potentially game-redeeming strategy element is presented in this video, i would be legitimately grateful. It would delight me to see that, because maybe it would eat away at this patina of disappointment that's encrusted my opinion of this game. sorry this post was so bitchy.
