I'm not too worried about the pod changing though. Fact is, just about everything changes between games in the Halo Universe in an artistic sense. Just look at the marines. They've worn different armour in each game which are separated by only a couple of months. Or the famous example of the Mjolnir VI gloves magically changing between Halo 2 and 3, now that one has no possible explanation, its just something that happened because Bungie wanted it to. That's the nature of the Halo universe for you, we just have to roll with it.
