: yeah, *definitely* my favourite moment, Loph :P : -- james Or... there's nothing better than your favorite gaming company being bought out and made the premiere developer for Microsoft's newest and most advanced piece of hardware (btw, ALL software is buggy... don't believe me?... try the initial release of Mac OS X 10.0... I love it, but it's got and still has A LOT of bugs that need to be fixed), thereby giving said gaming company vastly more exposure to a new market segment (which dwarfs the numbers of PC/Mac gamers, btw) and being smart enough to let that gaming company develop the game on their own with minimal interference. And, at the risk of being redundant, Halo would likely be vaporware (like the much-loved "Duality") had Microsoft not stepped in. Besides, do you really think the current state of Halo is worse or better than what it would have been were it realeased over a year ago? Seriously... I'm a realist. The Buyout, while not (in a perfect world) the most desireable, was probably the best outcome given the circumstances. Gaming companies are dropping like FLIES due to financial difficulty, and Microsoft STILL has over $38 Billion in cash reserves. You do the math... So, yes, it was my favorite moment... because once the buyout occurred I knew FOR A FACT that Halo would be made and see the light of day (even if that light is from some star in some uncharted part of the galaxy). Ans the resources of Microsoft (and hence, of Bungie) allowed the game to take the form that it's currently in... and I'm happy with the result. :) (Sorry for the lack of brevity, MSN :P ) -Loph
