In Response To: Re: What is your favorite "Waiting for Halo" memor (Nate) Definatly the first movie. That still makes me wince. The graphics were so good, the concept so clear. A Multiplayer focused massive ringworld where you would have squad based battles over the entire planet with 64 players. Now its a single player focused xbox game with a whopping 16 players (4 linked xboxes 4 way split screen), and graphics that simply dont compare to the old game. Why are they so bright and shiney now? I much prefered the dull metals and the dark cloud skies. Hell, the original (Blam!, as I refer to it) had some of the best skies ive ever seen. Hell, the textures and all that STILL amaze me. Except for bump mapping etc. the old Halo looked much better. Also have you noticed that while the graphics have gotten worse over time, the system its running on has gotten better? Now if only we could make a Blam! mod for halo putting back in the whole AI oriented gesture system (imagine having a black and white type AI with halo hand gestures, so that as you play more they start to under stand you better, and if you give bad orders they will stop following you) and replace the old texturing, etc.
