In Response To: What is your favorite "Waiting for Halo" memory? (Lophan) Probably when they announced the game as being something where you could run clear around the planet, shoot some bad guys, and have all the changes you made to the landscape and buildings be permanent. The idea of being able to shoot a building with a tank and having it still be in pieces later, or being able to find the individual casings of rounds you had fired off in a previous battle still there, gave me goosebumps. The real kicker was that they ran the original game on a freaking old machine. This meant that i would have been able to play on my antique comp. without having to take out a short term loan to buy a new computer. This was what put me over the edge. The game has changed and the requirements have gone up a bit, but the goosebumps are still there, even through the last of the weekly updates and Developer's Diaries (especially those that talked about stacking jeeps to create a ramp, and being able to do a backflip out of the jeep while simultaniously throwing a grenade, picking up the flag, smacking someone with it, then landing in the passenger's seat and hitting the guy you just decked with the flag on your way out with the jeep). -Cannon Fodder Backflip, grenade throwing, flag smacking specialist | |
