DVD, and look at theHistoryCryo Interactive's Dune

In Response To: CD! [read in] (-mortensenj)

I think DVD is the best choise to make. Why?? Because Cryo Interactive did that several years ago, they planned to release a game on 150 floppy disks, everybody thought they where crazy because the CD didn't even excisted yet. But Cryo Interactive knew what was going on at the market and released the first game on CD called Dune, we all know that game as a game developed by Westwood but history tells different. The game was developed by Cryo Interactive but when the crouwd more and more discussed about the 150 Floppy Disks EA decided to stop financing the project due to the bad press and fear for a low number of sales. After half a year Westwood continued the project as we know it today. We have all heard of the game and most of us have played the game. Now what's the point everybody bought the game and it was a bestseller you can even buy it in shops today under the White-Label series, We got chapter 3 on the series in store now and 2 other Dune games are on their way. It would be great if Bungie was the first company to release a game on DVD with dolby Digital 5.1 etc. It would encourage people to buy DVD-drives, there is a large amount of DVD-drives installed on systems today. All DVD games today also have their CD-Counterparts. And have no Dolby Digital sound. It is time for PC to evolve towards DVD, if Bungie doesnt nobody does, the time is right today if we wait to long we might never see DVD-only PC games.

Thanks Mnemonic
