It got teen rating because the blood is mainly alien blood, the goal is to NOT harm your team mates(ie. humans, note that matt did also say the human blood was still in) and that is a big plus when it comes to lower ratings. Why was it removed from oni? well i didn't follow Oni's development cycle but my bet is for the opposite reason to my other point. Your goal in oni is to ran around, break peoples backs, snap peoples necks, throw people against walls and off 10 story buildings and by people i mean humans. So if thats the reasoning the ratings board use then thats why Oni had coloured flashes(also i'm not clear 100% in my mind that oni was dumbed down but thats what i've been told). Personaly i don't think the coloured flashed detracted from Oni, it suited the graphic style and fighting style and was a good easy way for you to tell how badly damaged your opponent was. | |
