In Response To: what's with you people? (gcc -configure) You're twisting my words, here, Configure. I said that I didn't like that Bungie was pushing for a Teen rating (even though, as Darkman pointed out, there will be some degree of blood and swearing). I did not say that a game without blood and gore must suck. I never brought up gameplay or storyline or multiplayer, because I'm confident that Bungie has made another Marathon (read the last couple paragraphs of my post). The whole point was that Bungie made another console game, really, and the fanboi in me didn't like that. As to thinking Halo would be seamless or massively multiplayer... Bungie had originally said things to the likeness of seamlessness but then scrapped it because it wasn't working out. And I don't think anyone ever thought the game was an MMOG. I've never heard of a store that prohibits kids from buying games. There is no law concerning it, though there has been lots of talks and pressure to do so. I know a guy who used to work at Electronics Boutique who once prevented a seven year old from purchasing a copy of Resident Evil 2. The child left the store and came back with an enraged father who demanded to know why his child wasn't allowed to purchase the video game. My friend, unsettled but not deterred, informed the man that the game was rated Mature, which is very similar to a movie being rated R, and there is material contained in the subject matter that is deemed unsuitable for children younger than age 17. My friend was then informed by the man that he didn't give a damn about the rating and that he was no longer going to pleasure the franchise with his business as he stormed out the door, child in hand. Ironically, on another occasion my friend did allow a copy of House of the Dead 2 to be purchased by a twelve year old boy whose mother stormed in afterwards demanding to speak to the manager. However, as stated in my previous post, I believe that by pushing for a Teen rating Bungie is able to reach a larger demographic and therefore sell more copies. All of your accusations were rather unfounded, and I think you need to think about what you write before you actually write it. |
