All I did was play the level like normal taking out all the enemies up to the grav lift. When the two Hunters dropped down from the ship, I walked back to the first health pack because my health was low after all the fighting. There is a area straight ahead from the health pack where a Red Needler carrying Elite comes out from, this is where I heard it from. Just walk to where the Red Elites stands and you should hear the sounds. I'm not the first person to hear these sounds. Someone on this forum mentioned this a few years ago. I recorded it playing the PC version and on legendary.
