In Response To: HOW or WHAT does halo actually do to kill? (tj) : please answer the question if u have any idea: theories or facts. Well Guilty Spark says something along the lines of "this installation has a blast radius of so-and-so light-years," or something like that. Which leads me to believe it's some kind of explosion, rather than a beam of some kind. I imagined the ringworld itself exploding when fired, since the Flood would be on Halo and, what the hell, if you're purging the galaxy of life (the Flood's food), you might as well take as many of them out with you as possible. Anyway, an astronomy professor once described to me what would happen if they ever created a black hole in a particle accelerator here on earth and lost control of it. Within the blink of an eye, everything you know would be crushed into subatomic particles. So sadly, I don't think a halo going off would provide much of a light show ... just total, uncompromising destruction within seconds. Makes the halos seem a lot more threatening than I think most people give them credit. ~Matt
