In Response To: Speculation about jump starting Jupiter (Gre'Thor117) : You know, NASA once posted up a documentary on television years back on how
That movie is probably 2010, the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey. I thought it was neat, and a lot less "brown acid"-inspired than its noble predecessor. : I doubt this is probable, but if someone
Not really. It might spark up, but Jupiter doesn't have the density to stay lit... in 2010 the Monoliths had to jigger seriously with its composition in order to get Jupiter to fire up. : So, Jupiter could have been a star that failed to hit the critical fusion
True, in the sense that any gas giant can be considered a "failed" star. But that's different than a brown dwarf, for some weird astrophysics reasons that involve lots of equations that I've forgotten.
