You know, NASA once posted up a documentary on television years back on how Jupiter is cooling down. Now, the only reason why I remember this tidbit is because it itrigued me, and I once saw a movie back then about how a vessel had to "jump start" a gas giant because the normal sun was failing or something. I doubt this is probable, but if someone nuked Jupiter and "jump started" the fusion, we would have a star. So, Jupiter could have been a star that failed to hit the critical fusion neccesary to radiate like our sun.
