A brown dwarf never reached star status. It's too big to be a planet, but too small to be a star. When I was taking astronomy and physics it was a purely theoretical critter, but apparently there's some stronger evidence out there for their existance. I'll have to go looking again. Planet != Brown dwarf != Star Whether brown dwarfs have planets or moons is something I never considered... but that would be a nomenclature point. That's still fodder for debate, though. -- Steve (sleep dwarfish right now... perchance to dream...)
