if you ve been reading, you ll have noticed I could care less about that old tired argument, and have stated I believe your 3rd person view will be very cool.<---- read again if anyone doesn t get this the first time thru. Please read into this what I m saying not what you think I m saying. When I think of 3rd... I don t concentrate on my "character"... I m thinking the view of my surroundings while in this view, that s the importance to me... the surroundings all around the character I control...that s what I feel is important, not cool effects to my character. I supposed and knew that my post would be turned into a witch hunt yet again, and my point totally missed.

You ve stated "think of the things you d miss or not see as far as my own character"... if we were in 1st person. These things just don t convince me that they are important. My point is.... I know from experience that when I m in the game, after awhile I don t even notice my character, so seeing these things are not important. But... you seem to think they are.

I say.... I hope I m not spending my time looking at my character and all these things you say I ll see, and be wowed by... I hope that s the last thing I m doing. My post was about this one statement you made, I disagree with it... not the end of the world, but what you think is important in this area, I don t.

It s nice all these things to notice about our own character, but would hardly be the end of gaming as we know it, if they weren t there. And don t think I don t care for all the work put into this area, every little thing I ve seen so far oozes quality, I m well aware of this fact.

I myself will indeed be looking at these effects on other characters, but I can tell you now, when I m into a game, the last thing I ll take the time to look at is the char marks on armor I m wearing.

Don t anyone have a cow, you won t be agreed with on every issue here. Rest assured that I m very amazed by what I ve seen of Halo, and think it ll change the way we play. I .. again... just don t agree with your reasoning in this one statement.

And to bring up something as stupid as to turn this again into a 1st/3rd person perspective war, which was never my intent, well ... not much to say about that.

It just rankles the mind, as I did state I think 3rd person will be cool, and very immersive.

I care less now that the game won t be 1st person, I and others here ran the gammut with this argument long ago, and the oath still holds for me. I ve read and re read posts on this, and have said nothing lately, nor replied on them. Talking with Mr Levin, and reading what others had to say has changed my mind on this. So please... feel free not to bring up things like "1st person blinders " in the future, as you are far from right in this area at this time. I hope I ve clarified myself in this area.

I oppologise if I ve not made myself more clear on this. Funny how disagreeing with a small statement, what it can lead to. <S>
