And when I play the game I spend as much time as possible punching BOBs in the face. It'd be a rough life for the guy who followed me around. :(

The upside is that it would give some fresh perspective, even to people who have play the game! And it's no less accessible to the audience. If it did really kick the atmosphere in the nuts, then I guess it's not the wisest decision, but I think that if it could be pulled off it would have decent results.

Finally, if "truly different" scares away directors, how do all these good, well known movies (Closer, Requiem for a Dream, Manchurian Candidate (old and new), Munich, etc.) manage to be made? Clearly a couple groups of people have figured out how to make the film industry bend to their artistic will...
