Bollywood, where our Marathon movie would be turned into a dance number. :)

I'm pretty sure this could be pulled off if someone were to lead off with that from the very beginning.

"Hi, I'm Eric, and this is the manuscript I've prepared for Marathon, the Movie. If you've ever played the game it's based off of, then you know that it is centered largely around atmosphere and story rather than the actual violence. More accurately, the violence even in the game is just filler between bursts of stories, and I don't believe it should take any more of an overall active role here. This would make it a truly different movie inside of the video game conversion genre, one that I believe would surprise viewers in a good way."

And if they don't like it or don't agree, then they're not the director you're looking for.
