In Response To: The Marathon Symbol appears in warhammer 40k? (Ernie) : The species name is (no joke) the Tau. Perhaps it's another coincidence, but
Heheheh... I have an Alarmingly Large army of Tau that I bought before I'd ever noticed the Marathon logo; here's a photo gallery on my game club web site. (It's rather large, so folks on dial-up connections may be in for a bit of a wait.) Those shots were taken before I'd finished painting and basing the models, so they look a bit sharper now. One of them made it to the Games Workshop web site covering the tournament I played in. (and placed 68th out of 100. sigh.) Here's a photo spread of that tournament's Best Painted Army, also a Tau collection... I'll never be that good. Or that patient. Johannes already put up the general links, so I'll spare you here. But of all the races in 40k, I'd have to say that I like the Tau the most both esthetically and in terms of story line. If the Tau are a Marathon nod, then it looks like I was set up as a Marafan before I'd ever played a Bungie game. Damn, they're good. -- Steve has multiple gaming addictions, alas, which drain his wallet quite efficiently. |
