: Ah, I just noticed on their "about" page: All the information
: here is immediately derived from Marathon, its third party scenarios,
: Bungie employees, players of the game who derived their own conclusions
: from the above three. Copyrights to those pieces of information belong to
: their respective owners.
: Which means "all your base are belong to you, and their base are belong
: to them, and we don't claim anybody's base for us". So Traxus doesn't
: have a license; every individual contributor has their own license. Like
: in the old days, the whole thing seems to be operating without concern for
: licensing, just doing cool shit for its own sake, with a passing note that
: "by the way, there are laws that may relate to what we're doing here,
: it's best not to break them".
: The whole damn net is so legalistic these days... but, there are laws that
: relate to a lot of what we do, so we'd better be clear about what exactly
: it is we're doing as regards those laws, i.e. what sort of license a
: contribution to the site construes (which would be my main concern), and
: what sort of license that material is published under (which seems to be
: Guesty's concern). And again, my suggestion is "public domain, fuck
: copyrights", which solves both problems, but that's ultimately up to
: whoever owns Traxus to decide.
Gah, I thought I posted this but it didn't for some reason... anyway, yeah, reading it again, I see what you mean about the "there may be copyrights, but we don't know for sure" thing they've got goin' on... but you're right, f***ing copyrights is the best thing to do, which is why I'll still edit Pfhorpedia rather than letting it fall into disrepair (Wikia's policies prevent it from being deleted)... but I might still edit Traxus a little bit too, though. ^^ meh...
